Former Mining Town: Bodie, California

Nothing like a good ex-mining town in my opinion. Hence why I spent so much time in them for my BFA final project. I got to venture into Bodie, a ghost town in Northern California. Population 24 in the summer, 8 in the winter. This man below is one of the summer citizens of Bodie. He goes by “Sweet Water John”, and spends the other half of his time in Virginia City, Nevada. He owns a museum there.. which I oddly enough have been to, thanks to elementary school field trips. Bodie is the best preserved mining town in America, which I find to be pretty amazing, with many buildings that you can walk into and look at everything left behind. Pretty awesome spot to wander around in the desert.
